Alice will share stories from her recent work, and what’s next on her journey as one of Britain’s most vibrant jewellers.

About the speakers
Rachel Garrahan is jewellery and watch director for EE72, co-curator of the sell-out V&A Cartier exhibition, and co-author of the Sunday Times bestselling-book Cartier. A creative storyteller, Rachel has two decades of experience writing about jewellery and watches, luxury and culture. She also sits on the Marketing and Communications Committee at The Goldsmiths’ Company. Former jewellery and watch director at British Vogue, Rachel’s credits include the International New York Times, Tatler, Vanity Fair, Financial Times, Art Newspaper, Telegraph, Town & Country, Conde Nast Traveller, Robb Report, T Magazine and Times Luxx.
Alice Cicolini is a British jewellery designer who draws her inspiration from the sacred architecture and patterns of the Silk Route. Her jewellery explores collaboration and juxtaposition, craftsmanship and heritage, colour and pattern, and has been exhibited at the V&A Museum, Somerset House, and Sotheby’s London among others. Alice is also a curator of several international touring exhibitions on design, and a published author, including a book on contemporary British dandyism, The New English Dandy, for Thames & Hudson. Formerly Director Arts & Culture for the British Council in India, she remains closely involved with Indian craft and design.

Goldsmiths’ Hall operates Airport style enhanced security procedures for all public events - these include a bag scanner and a security arch. Suitcases and items larger than a laptop bag are not permitted inside the building. Our cloakroom, situated downstairs, can be used free of charge for coats, bags and umbrellas.
Disabled access to Goldsmiths’ Hall
The main entrance to Goldsmiths’ Hall is on Foster Lane and may not be suitable for visitors who require step-free access. Those who are require level access from street level should ring the bell on Carey Lane, for assistance and access by lift. The Exhibition Room is on the first floor, and can be accessed by lift from within the ground floor lobby.
