An exhibition showcasing the glory of the brooch, from the Bronze Age to Today, including breathtaking examples by Fabergé, Cartier, Boucheron and cutting-edge contemporary jewellers including Hemmerle, and Mumbai-based Bhagat.
Over 250 jewels from across the globe, with museums and private collectors lending. Many never exhibited before, emerging from their vaults for the first time and will include nine pieces loaned from the Goldsmiths’ Company Collection.
Brooches of wide ranging-inspirations and themes will be featured, as will Royal, French Imperial and Russian Imperial examples. From Sarah Bernhardt to Suffragettes, Sir Edward Burne-Jones to Salvador Dali, famous wearers and designers will be represented as well as the most distinguished jewellers of the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Entry to the exhibition is free.
Catalogues are £10, proceeds will benefit The King’s Trust.
