Annie Warburton in conversation with TF Chan

Annie Warburton, CEO and Clerk of The Goldsmiths’ Company, is joined by TF Chan, the recently appointed director of Collect Fair, for what will be a thought-provoking conversation centred on luxury, artistry, and craftmanship. Together, Annie and TF will discuss the challenges and opportunities for jewellers and artists with craft-based practices, and what can be learnt from the global luxury industry, burgeoning public interest in craft, and the evolution of international craft events and audiences.

Tickets are priced at £10 per person and include light refreshments.

Talk tickets do not provide access to Goldsmiths’ Fair.

About the speakers

TF Chan is fair director at Collect, the international art fair for contemporary craft and design held at Somerset House, London. With a background as an arts and culture editor and journalist, he began his editorial career at the international design and lifestyle title Wallpaper*, and served as the magazine’s editor from 2020-23. As a freelance writer, TF has contributed to publications including The World of Interiors, Monocle, Icon and Ark Journal. His first book, a monograph on the leading Danish lighting company Louis Poulsen, was published by Phaidon in 2024. Born in Hong Kong, he completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University, New Jersey, before moving to London in 2012.

Annie Warburton is CEO and Clerk of The Goldsmiths’ Company, and former creative director of the Crafts Council. With more than 20 years’ experience in creative industries organisations that span the private, public, and charity sectors, Annie is a respected specialist in contemporary craft with a track record of delivering tangible impact and creating opportunities for talented people from all backgrounds to achieve their creative potential. She is a council member at Creative UK, a champion at the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre, and a fellow of the RSA. She is a skills adviser at QEST (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust), Associate Member of the Artworkers Guild, and Honorary Associate at Newnham College, Cambridge. In 2024, Annie was awarded Fellowship of the City and Guilds of London Institute – the highest honour that the Council can confer on an individual – in recognition of her personal contribution to, and support of, technical education and training, her commitment to skills development and her career-long commitment to equity and diversity.

  2. Tickets must be booked in the name of the person who is attending - photo ID that matches the name on the booking will be required to gain entry.

  3. Tickets do not provide access to Goldsmiths’ Fair.

Security & bag policy

Goldsmiths’ Hall operates Airport style enhanced security procedures for all public events - these include a bag scanner and a security arch. Suitcases and items larger than a laptop bag are not permitted inside the building. Our cloakroom, situated downstairs, can be used free of charge for coats, bags and umbrellas.

Disabled access to Goldsmiths’ Hall

The main entrance to Goldsmiths’ Hall is on Foster Lane and may not be suitable for visitors who require step-free access. Those who are require level access from street level should ring the bell on Carey Lane, for assistance and access by lift. If you have any concerns or questions about visiting the building, please email us.

The Exhibition Room is on the first floor, and can be accessed by lift from within the ground floor lobby.
