This panel brings together a City Guild, a gallery-foundation, and an artist-maker with global reach to ask the question: how do we bring craft to the public today?

Annie Warburton, CEO of the Goldsmiths’ Company, will discuss the organisation’s step change toward a more public-facing role – from long-term investment in skills and emerging makers to a new programme of exhibitions launching in 2027. Gallerist Sarah Myerscough will reflect on how to elevate perceptions of craft, and how the new Crafted Arts Foundation aims to build craft literacy among the public. Ceramic artist and filmmaker Florian Gadsby brings the maker’s perspective, exploring how digital platforms can demystify process, expand access, and convert impressions into a deeper appreciation for material intelligence.
