The London Assay Office is one of the oldest continually operating institutions in the UK, providing hallmarking and precious metal services since 1327. Today we combine heritage with innovation, supporting jewellers, designers, manufacturers, and global brands with world-class testing, marking, and customer service. We’re looking for a dedicated production assistant to join our team. This is not an administrative role; it is a hands-on production assistant position, focused on the practical aspects of the hallmarking process.

Role Purpose

At the Assay Office, we’re looking for a dedicated production assistant to join our team. This is not an administrative role; it is a hands-on production assistant position, focused on the practical aspects of the hallmarking process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, testing, marking, and packing of metal items submitted for hallmarking.

  • Ensure metal items meet required fineness before approval or rejection, in line with hallmarking legislation.

  • Follow customer instructions carefully and thoroughly understand specifications.

  • Work closely with your team to ensure high productivity and consistent quality.

  • Safely handle and test metal items, ensuring security and correct use of all tools and equipment.

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and organized working environment at all times.

  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and quality standards.
