This autumn sees the highly anticipated return of an ever more stylish Goldsmiths’ Fair, the UK’s leading luxury destination to view and buy original precious metal jewellery and contemporary silver direct from the makers. The 35th edition of the Fair features:

  • 126 of the most exciting established and emerging gold and silver designer-makers;
  • Special exhibitions including a cutting-edge video installation;
  • A programme of engaging design talks and tours;
  • The prestigious Best New Design Awards.

Precious Mysteries, the theme of this year’s Fair alludes to the alchemy of traditional skills and innovative design that is the hallmark of Goldsmiths’ Fair. Celebrated filmmaker Ujin Lin has created a video installation for Goldsmiths’ Fair 2017 based on this theme, and featuring jewellery and silver he has selected from this year’s Fair exhibitors. The full film will be shown at Goldsmiths’ Fair in September. Ujin has previously made video campaigns for brands such as Prada, Philip Lim and Zara.

Timeless Innovation: The Goldsmiths' Company Jewellery Collection

Jewellery expert Joanna Hardy curates a special showcase of highlights from the Goldsmiths’ Company Modern Jewellery Collection. Launched in 1961, the Collection now comprises approximately 600 modern and contemporary precious metal pieces of studio art jewellery, including work by Charlotte De Syllas, Leo de Vroomen, John Donald, and Andrew Grima, among others.

The New Abstraction: Sculptural Silver

Christina Jansen, Managing Director of The Scottish Gallery, curates this exciting selection of sculptural silver. All about form over function, this special exhibition includes artistic silver statements in which form is defined by boundary or edge as opposed to practicality.
