On occasion, the Company supports ‘close to market’ industrial research relevant to the widest trade audience. We welcome proposals for research funding from individuals and institutions but ask you contact The Director before making a formal application. This gives us the opportunity to assess the relevance and potential of any project. We rarely fund research fully and partnerships are encouraged.

The Funding of Industrial Research

A consumer support service, operated in conjunction with trading standards offices
A technology portal which has comprehensive links to technology websites, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and services relevant to the industry
Our technical publications offer a wide range of technology and process based information, whilst the main Goldsmiths' Company Library is not only stocked with volumes ancient and modern but also offers a feast of literature covering all aspects of the arts and crafts across the ages.

Technical Reports

The Goldsmiths’ Company has been producing technical reports for the industry since the late 1960s. These reports covered all the research and development projects undertaken by the Company as well as visits to overseas trade fairs and the latest equipment and design trends.

Relaunched in 2003, these reports are available on CD or in printed formats from the Technology & Training Department. For more information click here.
