Continuation
of professional development is a key element of the work
of the Goldsmiths' Company Technology & Training Department.
A portfolio of specialist training has been created to support
both graduates and those who are already established within
the industry through a programme of masterclasses, seminars
and other professional development activities. |
'Getting Started' 18th-22nd January 2010
An Introduction to Business for Jewellers and Silversmiths
Getting Started is a FREE week-long course for recent UK graduates
of precious metal courses.
Delivered as a series of seminars and workshops in January each year,
the programme focuses on the 'next steps' for those wishing to pursue
a career within the industry. The aim of the course is not to dictate
any particular career route for recent graduates: instead the aim
is to provide an opportunity for attendees to review their options
alongside a range of practical help and guidance for those wishing
to pursue a particular career path.
If you wish to apply for a place on the 'Getting Started' course the 2010 application deadline has now passed. Please review the website in the new year for information on the 2011 course.

“Getting Started is the most valuable programme available to give us a real insight into the industry and the opportunity of meeting successful trend setters and influencers who are stimulating and passionate about UK jewellery. I am very glad I came.”
“I feel like I came in as a clueless graduate and now feel like I have been given the information to take the steps to become a professional designer maker”
“The networking opportunity was excellent, although for me it wasn’t one of the opportunities I was looking forward to, on reflection it was the most important and useful opportunity”
