Lee Simmons
Lee Simmons, winner of the New Designers Award for Silverware.

The Goldsmiths' Company provides a number of prizes, bursaries, awards and sponsorship for those studying to enter the craft and industry. These include the New Designers Awards, presented at the annual New Designers exhibition. The Precious Metal Bursary Competition, which supports emerging talent from within UK silversmithing and jewellery courses, and the Young Designer-Silversmith Award and Silver Grant which is operated and administered through the Curator's Department.

The Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office London has also recently introduced a special hallmarking package for full and part-time students.

The Goldsmiths' Company is a major financial sponsor of the annual Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council Competition, as well as supporting a number of specific college-based awards. For example, a one-year bursary is given each year to a final year student studying silversmithing at post-graduate level at the Royal College of Art.
