Mirri Damer

Living by the sea informs much of my work and I draw my inspiration from the forms of the weather-worn coast and marine flora and fauna right down to the simple pleasure of stacking pebbles on a beach.

I use the repetition, shapes and textures found in nature to create work that has a natural sense of proportion and balance, taking my background in sculpture to a new wearable scale.

Many of my designs are made of multiple parts which, when worn together, create strength and interest and invite closer inspection. This allows the wearer to add to the piece in an individual way.

My latest collection, made predominantly in gold, is highlighted with diamonds and green sapphires chosen for their suggestion of stormy seas. From more elaborate necklaces, to every day pieces, and with simple harmonious design, this is fresh and modern jewellery with a traditional twist.
