Hamilton & Inches was established in 1866 and from the earliest days maintained all the necessary workshops to support the retail store. This remains so today and we are proud to have amongst the largest workshops, with some 6 craftsmen at the bench, in Scotland and UK directly associated with a retail company. Up until 1992 the product range was limited to traditional Scottish silverware, Highland Dress Ornaments, Scottish jewellery with special commission work. After 1992 the workshops, directed by Denzil Skinner, went through a complete examination of the product offering and decided to dramatically alter the style and direction of the product range. The overall aim has been to remain true to our past and tradition, whilst producing well made, hand-crafted silverware to reflect contemporary lifestyles and needs. A signature of our pieces is the use of plannished and/or textured finishes to contrast against the smooth polished surfaces. We aim to ensure that our designs will stand the test of time and be enjoyed by generations to come. Special commission work forms a significant part of our business.
