Wally works  to commission not only in silver but cast iron, aluminium and bronze, and in  scale from jewellery and chased silver combined with gold detail and semi precious stones to the parapets of a road bridge in cast aluminium, and the balcony for a private house in cast iron.  He has made sculpture in silver and in bronze and in 2008 combined these two materials in a commission for a pair of wine coolers for the Birmingham jewellery and Giftware Federation.. He shares many of the ideals of the Arts and Crafts movement with which his work is often compared.

Specialist Techniques

I use chasing and repousse together with granulation or diffusion welding technique when working in silver and gold. I also construct, carve and model for casting using the ceramic shell, sand and lost wax methods in aluminium, bronze, iron and silver.

I work across a range of scale from a few inches to elements in a construction which may each be over a metre and a half for assembly into larger structures.
