THE GOLDSMITHS' COMPANY PAVILION AT SOMERSET HOUSE JUNE 2012

The Goldsmiths’ Company Pavilion, a contemporary jewellery summer selling exhibition, is set to be one of the most exciting highlights of the season featuring some of the most exciting independent designer-makers in the UK

Paul Dyson, Director of Promotion said: “The Goldsmiths’ Company is constantly striving to find new and exciting opportunities to showcase the remarkable talents of contemporary British jewellers and we are delighted to be taking the Goldsmiths’ Company Pavilion to Somerset House.  The newly refurbished East Wing of this spectacular neo-classical building, one of London’s architectural gems, is the perfect venue for a dazzling show of spectacular design-focused jewellery.”

The Goldsmiths’ Company Pavilion is all about stunning cutting edge creations with stand-out vibrant and colourful pieces as the perfect summer accessories.  The Goldsmiths’ Company is casting a wide net to find a fresh and fabulous array of designer-makers who specialise in statement jewellery.  While many of the exhibitors will be drawn from the Company’s online directory, Who’s Who in Gold and Silver – the diverse selection will include jewellers who have never before exhibited at a Goldsmiths’ Company event and even emerging young jewellers keen to show their debut collections.

Participating jewellers will be vetted and accredited by the Goldsmiths’ Company which for centuries has supported and encouraged superlative craftsmanship and design integrity among goldsmiths and silversmiths.

In addition to the excellent fine jewellers working in gold, silver and platinum who are the signature of the Goldsmiths’ Company, you can expect to see jewellers making use of a range of supplementary materials including: Perspex, resin, Whitby jet, recycled materials and other surprising elements.

The event is designed to appeal to avid collectors from around the world, luxury fashion shoppers, art enthusiasts, jewellery obsessives, high-end design aficionados, holiday accessory seekers, tourists in London for the cultural season and anyone with an emotional connection to jewellery.

The Goldsmiths’ Company Pavilion is part of a number of jewellery events taking place at Somerset House over the summer including Treasure, the contemporary jewellery show; the wholesale buying event Jewellery Show London; and an exhibition of work by acclaimed UK jeweller and artisan, Wendy Ramshaw CBE, RDI.
