Mid-Career Refreshment Grants
For Primary and Secondary full-time School Teachers

The Goldsmiths Company awards grants of up to £3,000 to enable primary and secondary school teachers to enjoy a complete break from the classroom for a period of four to six weeks. In addition the Company will meet the cost of the first four weeks' supply cover.

The aim of these grants is to give full-time teachers with more than 10 years' classroom experience an opportunity to get away from school and explore a personal interest or passion, preferably unconnected with their specialist subjects, thereby providing refreshment and a chance to recharge batteries mid-way through their teaching careers. Projects submitted for a grant should be as original and imaginative as possible, showing evidence of a commitment to embrace new experiences. They should ideally involve overseas travel. Off the shelf package holidays will not be considered. Applicants will need to demonstrate their need for refreshment and how their proposed project will reinvigorate them and enhance their future work in the classroom.
