Astrophysics

Sunday 18 July to Friday 23 July 2010
Queen Mary University of London

Based at Queen Mary, University of London, the course is aimed at teachers of physics who have a very basic astrophysical knowledge, and provides an up to date overview of knowledge and understanding of cosmology, galaxies, stars and planets and related astronomical topics. The approach is to give teachers background, explanations and insight into astronomy, together with opportunities to discuss their teaching approaches with professional astronomers, and to evaluate practical materials and teaching resources. It includes a visit to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich.
