Awards and Grants
To encourage young designer-silversmiths,
the Curatorial department runs two schemes:
- Silver bullion grants of £300 each for selected
British students currently full-time at college.
- The Young Designer-Silversmith Award
An annual design competition open to full-time students under
30 in the UK on an approved BA Hons or MA course. The winning
design is made by the student under the guidance of a master-craftsman
in a leading London workshop. The finished piece is presented
by the Goldsmiths' Company to the appropriate major museum
nearest the college for its collection of contemporary arts. |
