STUDIO SILVER TODAY AT Ickworth
'Studio Silver Today’, is a pioneering Goldsmiths’ Company exhibition, in collaboration with the National Trust, to broaden awareness of today’s modern silver movement, from 10th March - 3rd November 2012. The rising star artist silversmith, Miriam Hanid, the artist in residence, will design and make a beautiful beaker inspired by Ickworth House.

young designer silversmith award 2012
On 31st January, the Young Designer Silversmith Award 2012 judging took place. The competition brief this year was to design a fruit bowl for a particular species of fruit. Kate Earlam, a postgraduate student from Bishopsland, was chosen from a large number of entries. Congratulations to Kate who will make up her piece in the workshop of renowned silversmith Clive Burr. Clive is one of the first occupants of the brand new multi mullion pound Goldsmiths' Centre in Clerkenwell. The second prize was awarded to Katherine Duncan, a third year student at Glasgow School of Art.
